Our activity

Our activity is defined by the character of the Center as a general specialized academic unit in the field of national security and defense. 

CNSDR-BAS carries out expert and scientific activities in the area of European security and defense policy, protection of critical infrastructure, cyber-security, etc. The main actions throughout the years are:

  • Preparation and conductuion of round tables and work meetings related to problem-solving in the area of security and defense.
  • Supporting the BAS community in creating expert opinions, standpoints, and statements in the field of security, defense and the protection of the population and critical infrastructure during disasters.
  •  Participation in Interdepartmental Working Groups and Advisory Councils on a wide range of disaster protection, security and defense issues.
  • Participation in scientific research projects.

Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, as a leading scientific organization in Bulgaria, plays a significant role in moderating the Bulgarian army, security services and the national crisis management system through its expertise in various fields of theoretical and applied scientific activity.
