The first hackathon in Bulgaria under the European Earth observation program – “Copernicus”

The three-day hackathon is planned to take place from the 19th of April to the 21st of April in the Technical University of Sofia (Studentski complex) with the exact venue of the event yet to be determined.

The main goal of the event is to popularize the potential and usage of data and services of the European programme for Earth observation – “Copernicus”. The hackathon will provide a unique opportunity to bring together developers, entrepreneurs and specialists from different fields to develop new value-added products.

Together with other participants, in teams of 3 to 5 people, you will get access to: “Copernicus” data, through the DIAS cloud service platform; support from mentors; a GitLab repository with useful tools and the opportunity to join a preparatory training session and compete for a range of attractive prizes.

The prizes, mentors and jury will be announced after the official registration for the hackathon opens.

The event was organized under a project of the “Copernicus” program of the Office for transfer of aerospace technologies “Risk Space Transfer” (RST-TTO), which was created with the joint participation of the Institute of Space Research and Technology (ISRT) and the Center for national security and defense research (CNSDR) at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences.
